In April of 1972, Audemars Piguet introduced to the world a luxury watch with an innovative design that featured an integrated bracelet all with one caveat: in steel. Dishomogenous with watches offered from the major swiss horological brands of the time - luxury products were SUPPOSED to come in precious metals. It was bold strategy employed to combat the dropping sales resultant of quartz crisis that was shaking the swiss watch industry at the time. 
     Initially met with resistance, the disruptive icon created from the legendary Gerald Genta himself only increased in popularity and served to spark a whole new category of  products offered from other high end swiss watch brands. The Royal Oak remained on a steel integrated bracelet until the 1990s. What makes this reference particularly interesting and historically significant is it is the first Royal Oak to be offered on a leather strap.

CASE: Excellent condition, likely professionally restored by AP during a past service. All original factory brushed and polished surfaces are maintained. 36 mm case, wears larger due to the integrated strap.

DIAL: Excellent condition, flawless. Original dial with tritium markers. Classic and highly desirable Petite Tapisserie dial which is now much less common on the modern versions. Original tritium hands are also in pristine condition.

MOVEMENT:  Running perfectly. Underwent a full overhaul by AP in early 2022. Comes with the remainder of the factory warranty. Additionally, this watch will come with all of the paperwork from prior services. Complete provenance and documentation.

BRACELET: Original AP reptile strap with deployant buckle. Also comes with a bonus, nearly new custom AP calfskin strap for a more casual look.
