“The Pink Spider.” 

For your consideration we have a very old and extremely rare Breitling. The serial number dates this bad boy to ~1946. It sports a very unique and unusual case with a lug profile resembling claws or spider legs. According to our research and at the time of this write up there is currently only one other example in pink gold for sale in world. 

YEAR: 1946

CASE:  The 36mm solid 18kt rose gold case has previously been polished; however, not overly so as you can still appreciate the facet lines on all four lugs. The one o’clock and 7 o’clock lug appear to be slightly bent. The case back is in good shape and is stamped with a 66XXXX serial number. The hallmarks are appreciated and intact on the inside of the case back. The crown may be a replacement - it is the correct style crown but does not seem to match the case in color. Features a snap-on caseback. 

 DIAL: The dial features painted arabic numerals. The dial is worn with a heavy patina throughout. The silver lining is that it appears to be untouched and original. 

MOVEMENT: The Venus caliber 175 manually wound movement, lever escapement, runs and the chronograph functions as intended. I can provide a video for anyone who is interested. The service history is unknown and it is recommended to have the watch serviced prior to daily wear.
