Patek and Tiffany. Vacheron and Turler. Serpico y laino, Gubelin, Cartier, Meister, Beyer. Throughout horological history vintage watch brands have long had established relationships with various retailers at which point in time were allowed to stamp the name of their directly on the dial. These double stamped dials are more scarce than their non retailed counterparts. The purists would say the extra line of text is detracting (they're right.) That the extra line of text interupts the originally thought out design, mucking up the proportions. The market however has decided otherwise. Their scarcity in relation to their non-retailed counterparts equating to higher premiums. If you are in the non purist camp, treasure rarity and value the little nuances that is vintage watch collecting than this is for you. A "poor mans" double stamped Tiffany if you will.

     This example is a Hamilton Field Khaki retailed by mail-order and outfitter Orvis out of Manchester VT. The original started out produced under contract for the U.S. military. As history would have it, the general American public also made their desire for this product known. Upon cessation of the military contract Hamilton was left with a surplus of parts and happily obliged.

DIAL: The double stamped dial is in great shape.  The lume on the dial has patinated to a beautiful beige while the hands have aged several shades darker - common for these. 

CASE: The 34mm stainless steel case is in great shape. It presents with very minimal wear from use. 

MOVEMENT: Complete manual wind movement overhaul was just performed on 10/16/23 and will come with a one year warranty.

BRACELET: Will come on the pictured nato strap.
