There is no better time than the present to surround yourself in cleansing smoke and clarity. The start of a new year, a new home, a birthday or a life change all call for moments of setting new intentions.
In an effort to keep sacred rituals intact while developing your own, Catherine Rising ethically harvests her herbs and bundles them with florals and gemstone crystals. Sweetgrass, rosemary, eucalyptus, cedar, and palo santo find their way into her upstate New York studio where she bundles them with care and vintage threads.
You can choose to burn your bundle by lighting it and then carefully blowing out the flame, gathering the smoke around you in order to sanctify your space. I like to set a fresh stick out as a focal point and let it absorb all of the chaos around me. Occasionally, I'll bury it somewhere of significance and move on from there.
