In 1948, Omega introduced it's Seamaster Line. Today, it remains Omega's longest continuous running production model. Originally, it was released with the advertising catch phrase: "For town, sea and country." A nod to the intent behind the design. A watch that could go anywhere and do anything. Perfect for every type of occasion, the Omega Seamaster was introduced with the references 2577 and 2576.
This example, a reference 2577, is a 13.5 million serial and one of the earliest examples that I have come across to feature the beveled lug style case. Perhaps a transitionally example where Omega switched between the very early drilled lugs case to the later, beefier beveled lug version. It features a non-luminous dial and matching dauphine hands. We have paired it with a nice, brown, ostrich strap and are pleased to have it in our vintage watch shop!

CASE: The 34mm steel case is in good shape. The factory bevels can still be appreciated on all four lugs. The case presents with wear throughout commensurate with its age. The case is features its original screw down caseback and is completed by an original period correct fou leaf clover crown - correct for the reference. The crystal has also been replaced sometime in the past.
DIAL: The original white dial has patinated over time to a uniform champagne color. There is some heavier staining between the 12 to 2 o'clock and 3-4 o'clock hour markers. The dial is a non-luminous variation that features applied Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock with dagger style numerals for the rest of the hours. The dial completed by the correct non-luminous dauphine hands that have aged over time similar to the dial.
MOVEMENT: The Omega automatic bumper caliber 351 / 354. Has just returned from a fresh service and comes with a 1 year mechanical warranty.
BRACELET: Will come on the pictured, new, TUNS ostrich strap complete with quick set release spring bars.
ACCESSORIES: Comes with itemized invoice from the service and one year warranty. Also comes with an OEM Omega vintage style buckle on the strap.
